SCHOOL SUSTAINABILITY WORKSHOPS

Sustainability Workshops Program for Melbourne Schools

The ‘Otesha Project: Cycling for Sustainability’ is a non-profit organisation that offers bicycle tours and education programs to engage young people about sustainable consumption. Using theatre, multimedia, and interactive workshops, Otesha’s creative focus provides a unique approach to understanding environmental and social justice issues, encouraging young people to become role models and sustainability advocates.

The Otesha Project has a new program for high schools in Metropolitan Melbourne offering sustainability workshops for year 7-10 classes. We are offering four workshops topics - climate change, fair trade, food and consumerism - so teachers can choose a topic that is relevant to what their students are learning. Our workshops use experiential education techniques to encourage critical thinking and active learning. They are designed to be engaging and fun with a range of activities to cater for different learning styles. Workshops run for 1-1.5 hours and we are currently asking $100 per workshop.

If you know of any teachers that might be interested or would like more information please contact Anna on 0466 210 959, email vicworkshops@otesha.org.au or visit www.otesha.org.au/programs/vicworkshops
